In August 1996, DuClaw Brewing Company[1] opened its doors to the public for the first time in Bel Air, Maryland. In addition to housing the restaurant and bar, DuClaw Bel Air was also the original location of the brewing facility where DuClaw Brewmaster Jim Wagner creates DuClaw’s signature handcrafted house beers.
[edit] History
June 2001 saw DuClaw open its doors again, this time at the new Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover, Maryland. Two and a half years later, in December 2003, DuClaw headed south and opened a third location to serve the greater Baltimore – Washington area at Bowie Town Center in Bowie, Maryland. July 2004 marked DuClaw Brewing Company’s arrival in Baltimore. DuClaw Brewing Company makes its home in the Bond Street Wharf building, just off the water at the corner of Bond and Thames streets in Fells Point.
In 2005, brewing was moved to a centralized facility in Abingdon, Maryland.
In November 2006, the original location in Bel Air was closed due to a fire. It is expected to reopen in March 2007.
