Duke of Albemarle
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Dukedom of Albemarle has been created twice in the Peerage of England, each time ending in extinction. Additionally, the peerage was "created" a third time by James II, while in exile; this creation, given to Henry FitzJames, is generally not considered a true creation of this peerage. See also Earl of Albemarle. And there is another Jacobite Dukedom of Albemarle from 1721 which became extinct in 1776 on the second duke's death.
