Talk:Duke of Aquitaine
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I have tried to make a sensical listing of the Merovingian dukes. But it is almost certainly wrong and I have no good dates. Boggis (son of Charibert) died in 688. Hubert was his son. It is said that Hubert resigned the throne to a brother named Boggis. Elsewhere this brother is Odo the Great. Who then is Lupus I? When did Hubert abdicate and when did Odo begin his reign? I have done a major overhaul of this list, removing some dubious information (better covered in articles), giving a bit of background information regarding the Carolingian Kings and the Hundred Years' War. (However, I did no actual research on this and assumed that the information included was correct).
I also removed the table structure and turned the list into plain text, since the tables seemed to mess up, differing in breadth. If anyone is enthusiastic about tables, he may have a go at fixing it.
I have no information on whether the title Duke of Guyenne was granted after Charles, Duc de Berry. Anyone in the know may add to this. Str1977 (smile back) 15:07, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- Found one at heraldica.org from the 18th century, but that's probably it. Choess 16:02, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
