Dyango, born José Gómez May 8, 1940 in Romero in Barcelona, is a Catalan musician. He has been famous for lush, sentimental, romantic Latin pop since the 1970s.
He named himself after the Gipsy guitarist Django Reinhardt. Two of his sons, Marcos Llunas and Jordi, are also singers, though the first one is currently retired. He is widely known as the Spanish Tom Jones. Dyango is also the name of theatre actor Dyango Llerenas Briones, who was named after the Spanish singer. He is best known for his onstage performances in Jesus Christ Superstar, Reefer Madness, MacBeth, and Grease!
