Folgender Abschnitt muss noch Übersetzt und eingefügt werden:
The company was started in 1986 with the name being derived from the word 'ethnic', because of the present skateboarding sub-culture at the time. In 1989 Pierre André took charge of the company and made it the first skateboard shoe company owned by a professional skateboarder.
The logo can today be seen as the most accessible brand of Sole Technology. While its other manufacturers, éS and Emerica, are specifically skateboarding shoes, Etnies have an all round variety and have even developed Etnies Girl.
