Die zeitgenössische Darstellung zeigt das Eintreffen der hessischen Artillerie auf der Zeil am Abend des 18. September. Im Hintergrund ist die Barrikade in der Allerheiligengasse zu sehen. Nach vergeblichen Verhandlungen fuhr die Artillerie in Stellung und schoß die Barrikade zusammen.
