The Light ist das Debütalbum der Progressive Rockband Spock's Beard. Es erschien im Jahre 1995.
Es enthält 4 Songs, welche wie es oft im Progressive Rock vorkommt, relativ lang sind (kürzeste 6min). Dabei bestehen die Lieder "The Light" und "The Water", aus mehreren Teilen. Hierdurch und auch durch den Stil der Band fühlt man sich teilweise an Progressive Rock Klassiker wie beispielsweise Suppers ready von Genesis erinnert. Wenn gleich sich die Musik von ihren Vorbildern in anderen Teilen auch abhebt und in Richtung eines eigenen Stils weist, der auf den Nachfolgeralben immer ausgeprägter wird.
