E. Bernard Jordan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bishop E. Bernard Jordan was born in Brooklyn, New York. The "Bishop" can be seen peddling pay-per-minute telephone "prophecies" on late night BET infomercials. "Master Prophet" Jordan is flanked by Rev Run, Reverend Ike, Prophet Brian Mosley, and Russell Simmons on said advertisements, which feature a cornrow-sporting Jordan pleading with audiences to call in to receive their "prophecy" and touting his abilities in front of large, exclusively African-American audiences.
Through his church, he has founded a school of prophets, Mar Elijah, to train people claiming prophetic gifts in the discipline and theology of prophecy.
He is married to Pastor Debra Jordan, and together, they have five children.
Bishop Jordan's luxurious house in Tuxedo Park, NY boasts a fleet of cars, including a Hummer and a Rolls-Royce.
He was consecrated as a Bishop by Archbishop Roy E. Brown in 1994. His wearing of Papal attire has brought both criticism and ridicule to his ministry, as he is not ordained by any formal Christian denomination.
