East German Shepherd Dog
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The DDR German Shepherd Dog or East German Shepherd Dog is a strain of German Shepherd Dogs originating in the German Democratic Republic. The breed was never an entirely different breed and is now extremely rare and not recognized as a breed by the German Shepherd Breeding Association (Schäferhundverein). Small numbers of the East German Shepherd, which is closer to the original German Shepherd of the early 20th century and more robust, are being maintained by dedicated non-associated breeders.
The last East German Shepherd Dog [1] (DDR) Sieger Show was in 1989, in Leipzig East Germany.
