Edith Penrose (1914-1996) Economist. Her most famous work "The theory of the growth of the firm" (1959) is the base for the core business theory and the resource based theory of the firm.
Edith T. Penrose (1965) pushed economic thinking out of its 'black box' by reintroducing the role of management.
