Edward G. Winter

Edward Winter is a British journalist and author about the game of chess. He has a regular column about the game, "Chess Notes," which he started in 1982. He lives in Switzerland. Recent updates to "Chess Notes" and articles of historical interest appear on his website. [1] Winter has published several books with material compiled from his "Chess Notes" column.
Winter is known for his criticism of other writers and players. He was described as the world's foremost chess historian by John Donaldson, but attacked as pedantic by Raymond Keene and Eric Schiller.
