Eesti Põlevkivi AS is a subsidiary of Eesti Energia, an Estonian state-owned energy company. The core activity of Eesti Põlevkivi is oil-shale mining in the north-east of Estonia.
Eesti Põlevkivi has following subsidiaries:
- Põlevkivi Kaevandamise AS - operator of Narva and Aidu open-pit mines, and Estonia and Viru underground mines.
- AS Põlevkivi Raudtee - rail transportation company
- AS Mäetehnika - company with the core activity of capital repairment of mining machinery and production of spare parts and metal constructions
- Orica Eesti OÜ (35% of shares) - production of explosives
