Ehsannullah

Ehsannullah is a citizen of Afghanistan held in extrajudicial detention in the United States Guantanamo Bay detainment camps, in Cuba.[1] The Washington Post reported that Ehsannullah was one of eighteen men repatriated to Afghanistan on March 22, 2003, and released with a certificate of innocence by Afghan authorities on March 26, 2003.
Ehsannullah is not a name listed on the official list of captives the Department of Defense released on May 15, 2006.[2]
The Washington Post reported that Ehsannullah was 29.[1] He claimed American soldiers in Afghanistan had taunted him and beat him. He told the Washington Post the soldiers had dumped a Quran in a toilet: "We cried so much and shouted, 'Please do not do that to the Holy Koran.'"
Ehsannullah, and the other released captives, were given a one set of western clothes, including running shoes, and a package containing their medical records.[1]
