[edit] History
There are many different stories about where the statue came from. One of the stories say that in colonial Mexico in the state of Aguascalientes two young men, brothers from Andalusia had both fallen in love with a woman from Castile without knowing they were talking about the same person. One day as they were both walking through a Holm Oak forest it started to rain they both found themselves finding shelter under the same tree. there they started talking and found out they both had been talking about the same woman. they were both so angry at each other that they took there knives out and started to fight. Suddenly a thunder bolt struck the oak and broke part of it what was left was the image of Christ on the Crucifix.
