[edit] Controversy
[edit] Rodrigo Orias
On July 24 2004, an Italian Catholic priest was murdered while delivering a sermon in the Metropolitan Cathedral, Santiago by a 26 year old extreme metal fanatic and satanist Rodrigo Orias - who apparently suffered from schizophrenia and other psychological disorders. When Dark Funeral learnt the name of the killer after having been bombarded by emails, Caligula unreservedly praised the murder. Orias had met with Dark Funeral when they played in Santiago 2003. At Orias' request, Caligula had burnt an inverted cross with a Cohiba cigar on his arm.
[edit] Peru Incident
Prior to a venue in Peru in October 2006, Caligula had high fever and required medicinal treatment. That night, Dark Funeral had to perform without him, and consequently a riot broke out. After the show had finished, the band's gear was confiscated.
