Empire Earth III, also called EE3, is a real-time strategy computer game being developed by Mad Doc Software and is expected to be published by Vivendi Universal in the 4th quarter of 2007.[1][2][3] It is the latest instalment of the Empire Earth series.

[edit] Gameplay
The game is going to introduce several new units and weapons, as well as "A new freeform campaign structure" that "borrows a few pages from Total War - except rather than being constrained to one period, you play across the entirety of history."[2] Also units and buildings left after a battle is over still exist, and buildings can be used by the enemies for their use. There are three customizable civilizations to choose from which are Western, Middle-Eastern, and Eastern. Each civilization can be customized by the player to their choosing. New nuclear weapons will be available such as a nuclear cannon.[2][4] A new type of map will allow players to battle across a virtual earth, and a new multiplayer mode called World Domination.[5] There is also a quest mode which gives optional tasks in the missions.[6]
[edit] Development
Development of the game began in 2005, very soon after Empire Earth II was shipped.[5] The developers used the official Sierra Entertainment forums to gather input from players.[7][8] The game engine was built on Empire Earth II's Gamebryo 2.0 and rewritten which allowed developers to create improved visual effects, ragdoll physics and increased the polygon count.[9][10]
