Emplacement

Generally speaking, an emplacement is something that houses or holds an object. More specifically, emplacement can refer to:
- In geology the term emplacement refers to the inclusion of igneous rock in older rocks, or the development or localization of an ore body in older rocks. The later is referred to as ore deposition.
- In military, an emplacement is a prepared place where a stationary or a semi-stationary weapon, such a gun or a machine-gun, is placed.
