English Delftware

English Delftware is tin-glazed pottery made in London, Bristol, Liverpool and Wincanton from about 1550 to the end of the 18th century. A variety of wares was made, including jugs, bowls , bottles, jars, vases, teapots, candlesticks and large decorative dishes.
The shape of English Delftware drug jars is very distinctive with clear lettering and cartoon-like painted panels of angel's heads and flying cherubs.
