[edit] Edit summaries
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 23:17, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] AfD Nomination: The Medaille Trust
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem to me that The Medaille Trust meets these criteria, I have started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.
Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Medaille Trust. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.
Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, an administrator will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. -- Netsnipe (Talk) 13:05, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Onehundredhours band.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Onehundredhours band.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 15:09, 18 August 2006 (UTC) |
[edit] European Business School
Thank you for the revert.84.168.91.144 23:38, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
I reverted the last edit made by the vandal who also appears as 217.237.151.235 and 217.237.151.234. If he shows up again, I will try to get him blocked and would highly appreciate your support in this matter, since he not only keeps reverting accepted facts, but also inserts arbitrary details to discredit others. Apart from this particular incident, he is also responsible for a variety of questionable edits in articles on the German educational system. I realize that the page currently contains too much advertising. However, he is not interested in any type of discussion and prefers to simply revert. I will happily remove excessive promotional language (which I never put in there) once I got this vandal off my back for good. His destructive attitide is my major motivation for requesting a block. Can you suggest next steps? Thank you in advance.84.168.120.192 21:59, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
Thank you! The page is now blocked for IP edits. Although this means I can no longer make anonymous changes myself, it is definitely worth it.84.168.120.192 22:41, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Using substitution for templates
When using certain template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. Vic226 23:34, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Radio Waves
Can you be more specific about what needs to be Wikified about the article "Radio Waves" ? John 03:18, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image tagging for Image:Mary Ward.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Mary Ward.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] One hundred hours
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article One hundred hours, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. [edit] wikiality
somebody mentioned that wikiality is not neologism, by wikipedias definition, it is. It is a new idea that applies to a phenomena (wikiality is a phenomena, it is a craze almost like that of the "get er done" craze. There is wikiality merchandise and a wikiality home page.
It is not nonsense. The article is on a phenomena, an idea. A popular word that people will recognize in a conversation. Some may take it offensive, but the article does stay as neutral as possible. Pw3d is not a real word. There is an article on it and many words like it. Wikiality is one of thoes articles. Some may take it to be an atack on wikipedia. It is not. The article clearly states that this is just a concept. Try to be mature and like a true wiki editer, neutral. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Allatropical (talk • contribs) 00:18, 16 February 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Your tagging of Memorial High School (Tulsa)
I wanted to let you know that {{db-corp}} doesn't apply to high schools, and that the speedy tag you added to Memorial High School (Tulsa) has been removed. The notability of individual high schools varies. Some have been taken to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, with mixed results. If you feel that the current version of the article (which is better than the version you tagged) should be deleted, you may want to take it to AfD. --Eastmain 13:48, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Thank you
I thank you for your comments. I was too angry, and I over-reacted. (Shame on me...) Thank you again for your reasoned reaction. I wish you well. andreasegde 15:15, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Inclusive classroom
Why did you reverted my edits? The article already has references and sources. (209.177.21.6 - Talk)
[edit] East Boston Community News
I cannot understand why this article was deleted. It was worthy of Wikipedia and I added some sources. I've written about 15 articles over perhaps four years and none was summarily deleted as this one was. --Jimbo Steamer
