[edit] Deletion? I think not!
Please do not delete this! I'm not finished with it! It's important alright!Icelandic Hurricane 01:47, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image size
Could somebody please make this smaller? Also, is there a template for organizing biographies?Icelandic Hurricane 17:45, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
- Image fixed. And for biographies, try here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography. - Elonka 18:13, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Early life guidelines
When do you consider the Early life to last to?Icelandic Hurricane 15:12, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
- In my own experience, it's not a required section heading, but is instead used if it's necessary to break up a longer "Biography" section. If there's plenty of information on all stages of life, I'd personally mark "Early life" as birth through the end of college, since that's usually a good dividing point to launch into the "career" section that explains what exactly it is that they're famous for. But if there's not much information on their early life, it can usually be folded into another section like "Biography" or "Background". Elonka 15:26, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Notability?
Is this notable enough? I hope so.Icelandic Hurricane 15:24, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
- Yes. Suggested improvements:
- Mention that he was a ship captain in the first section
- Create articles for each of the ships (actually, check to see if they might already exist -- lots of ships have individual articles on Wikipedia, and there are usually good US Navy sites around that have lots of details on them.)
- Check for other references, and format the books according to normal bibliography format (author/title/date/publisher/ISBN)
- Add other categories. There'll probably be one for 1812 soldiers, ship captains, etc.
