Eric Miller (rugby player)

Eric Miller (born on September 23, 1975 in Dublin, Republic of Ireland) was educated at Wesley College, Dublin and Loughborough University, and has played for Old Wesley, Terenure College, Leinster, Leicester Tigers and Ireland rugby teams as number eight and flanker. He was influential in Ireland winning its first under-21 level Triple Crown in 1996. He now plays Gaelic football for Ballyboden St Endas.

[edit] Rugby career
First capped in January 1997 against Italy, he then played in the first three Five-Nations matches and had a stunning tour of South Africa with the Lions in 1997 when he then came to prominence. He won 48 caps for Ireland and represented Ireland at the 1999 and 2003 World Cups.
Miller announced at the end of January 2006 that he would retire from professional rugby at the end of the season. Miller cited injuries and the demands that the fledgling professional game place on him as his main reason for retiring from the professional game. Although Eric was only 30 years old at the time of the announcement, Eric had been a professional player for 10 years.

Miller has returned to playing Gaelic football for Ballyboden St. Enda's since retiring from Rugby.[1] Miller won a Dublin under-21 FC medal with in the mid-nineties when he operated as a full-forward. Eric played his first senior game in a Dublin GAA shirt against Louth on tuesday 5th December 2006. He finished on the winning side in a game in which he scored three points from play.[1][2]
