Eric Strobel (born June 5, 1958) in Rochester, Minnesota was an American ice hockey forward.
Eric is best known for being a member of the Miracle On Ice 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team won the gold medal team.
Eric attended the Rochester Mayo High School and University of Minnesota.
Though drafted into the NHL by the Buffalo Sabres, Strobel only played one season with Rochester of the AHL before disappearing from the hockey scene.
Eric now coaches the peewee A team for the Eastview Athletic Association in Apple Valley, MN.
Eric married Kim Robinson on July 31, 1987 and is currently father to two children, Leslie (Born November 21, 1987) and Krista (Born September 19th, 1988). Neither are involved in their father's sport of choice. Leslie now attends Colgate University where she is on the varsity swim team. Eric suffered a minor stroke on October 31, 2006 and recovered in the hospital. He is currently in physical therapy and is improving daily.
