Erick Beltrán (b. Mexico City, 1974}
Beltran’s work is a constant research and reflection upon the power relation that exists between the editing process and the construction of the discussion. Focusing on the mechanisms that define, value, ordered, classified, select, reproduce, and distribute images in order to create economical and cultural discourses in contemporary society, and how the figure of the editor defines our world and power relations among groups of people.
Beltran pours these concerns into the creation of systems and diagrams that try to catalogue a determined universe, trough a process and a line of production with organic evolution. In his work as historic references we can quote: Matt Mullican, Hans Peter Feldman, Simon Staling, Jason Rhodes and Cildo Meireles.[[Category:Mexican artists}}
