Ethnic electronica

Ethnic electronica (alias ethno electronica or ethno techno) – a subgenre of electronic and ethnic (world) music genres, which combines the elements of them both and was developing in 1990s and 2000s years. A term ethnic electronica appears in the music zines, in the online music-related forums and blogs, and also in a title of a 2003 compilation "Another Life: A Journey Into Ethnic Electronica" (Love Cat Music)[1].
The leading exponent of ethnic electronica was Muslimgauze before Bryn Jones's death in 1999.
Other notable acts of ethnic electronica include the artists of asian underground movement (Asian Dub Foundation, State of Bengal, Transglobal Underground), Afro-Celt Sound System, early work by Yat-Kha (with Ivan Sokolovsky[2]). Among the commercial acts which work with this subgenre: Enigma, Deep Forest.
It is important to metion contraversial Turbo-folk Music also of this genre.
