European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research (ESOMAR) is a world body of Market Research Professionals and Organizations to enable better research in markets, consumers and socities.
ESOMAR was founded in 1948 as a regional association within Europe. Currently ESOMAR has more than 4000 active members in over 100 countries across all the continents.

ESOMAR has established code or codes of ethical practice and professional standards for its members. Market Research companies who are members of this organization are supposed to adhere to these standards and codes of ethical practice while conducting telephone, face-to-face or online surveys.
