Eurosclerosis
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Eurosclerosis is a term coined in the 1980s to describe a European economic pattern of high unemployment and slow job creation in spite of overall economic growth. This was in contrast to the U.S. experience in the same period when economic expansion was accompanied by high job growth. Later, the term tended to be used more broadly to refer to overall economic stagnation.
