Evanger

Evanger is a former municipality in Hordaland county, Norway.
It was created by a split from Voss on January 1, 1885. At that time Evanger had a population of 2,045.
On 1 January 1964 the districts of Bergsdalen and Eksingedalen with 251 inhabitants were merged with Bruvik and a part of Modalen to create the new municipality Vaksdal. The rest of Evanger, with 1,075 inhabitants, was reunited with Voss.
The village Evanger is located in the western part of Voss, in the eastern end of the lake Evangervatnet.
