[edit] Summary
The Domain Organisation of EVH proteins (from amino terminus (left) to carboxy terminus (right)). 1) EVH1 domain - responsible for correct localisation EVH proteins - binds FP4 motifs. 2) PxxP motifs - bind SH2 domains] of SRC and ABL kinases - possibly responsible for regulation. 3) GP5 motifs - Bind the actin carrier protein Profilin 4) G-Actin binding site - Binds G-(monomeric)actin. 5) F-actin binding site - Binds F-(polymerised) actin. 6) Tetramerisation helix - allows EVH proteins to tetramerise - can be homo- & hetero- tetramers.
