0DFx (also known as Zero Defects or Zero Defex) was a hardcore punk band.
It was formed in Akron, Ohio in late 1981 by Tom Seiler of local punk group The Bursting Brains, Mick Hurray of the neo-surf group The Nelsons, and Jim Friend of V-Nervz, another local punk rock group. After trying out a few bassists, they appointed Brad Warner, who had been in a new wave group called Mmaxx, through an ad in a local rock paper. Warner remained a member of the group until its dissolution.
0DFx appeared on the Ohio-based punk rock compilation, The New Hope[1] and on the nationally released P.E.A.C.E./War compilation, which has remained in print since 1983. But they are most notable for their role as a precursor to Brad Warner's book, Hardcore Zen, as well as for Tommy "Strange" Seiler's later bands, the Ragged Bags, Strawman and Songs For Emma.
