[edit] Yaşar Kemal
"The source is wrong" is not a good excuse. Please note that the threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. If you can provide reliable sources that say he wasn't Kurdish, we can say it in the article. Until then, it should stay. Khoikhoi 23:42, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
You can check it very easily from his official website www.yasarkemal.net The site has also english section and I have read it thoroughly. No reference of being kurdish in there. If it were so, he would have included such an important detail.
- So wait, because his website doesn't say he was Kurdish, he therefore wasn't a Kurd? What kind of logic is that? Khoikhoi 23:53, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
Who decides from what origin Yashar Kemal comes from? Probably the website prepared directly by himself might help us about it. Anyway, your source is no better than mine, which is another website, but not the official one.
- As I explained to you, your source doesn't mention his ethnicity at all, right? If you can find a source that specifically says he was ethnically Turkish, and not Kurdish, then we can include your info in the article. Until then, remember what WP:V says. Khoikhoi 22:07, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
You are in danger of violating the three-revert rule on Yaşar Kemal. Please cease further reverts or you may be blocked from editing. Khoikhoi 23:51, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
