- January 1 - First coast-to-coast network radio broadcast of Rose Bowl Game occurs. The game was broadcast on NBC.
- January 21 - Faust was the first opera broadcast over a national radio network. It was broadcast from Chicago, Illinois.
- February 23 - The Federal Radio Commission was created by Calvin Coolidge. This was later replaced by the Federal Communications Commission.
