Please do not add commercial links or links to your own private websites to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. (Note that Wikimedia already has a project devoted to quotes; see Wikiquote. I encourage you to contribute your quotes to that site, rather than link to your site under every conceivable topic.) -- Hadal 2 July 2005 03:37 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to use Wikipedia for advertising, you will be blocked from editing. Hadal 2 July 2005 03:44 (UTC)
This is your last warning. The next time you insert a commercial link you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --JYolkowski // talk 3 July 2005 14:03 (UTC)
Oh, just noticed this. My apologies for not responding earlier.
I can understand the links being removed if the information wasn't relevant. But if it's what people are looking for, why remove the links? Wouldn't someone looking at the Aesop page be interested in a link to 30 or 40 quotes from Aesop?
It would take years to transfer all the quotes to Wikiquote (at least for me) ... there are tens of thousands of them. But if it's more agreeable or appropriate for you, I'll limit myself to placing links into appropriate locations in Wikiquote. If you'd prefer for me to handle things this way, I'll remove the rest of the Wikipedia links.
Of course, there's nothing I can do to stop anyone from banning me. Which I must admit, is pretty distasteful.
Thanks for your time.
