If you don't believe that the article should be deleted, please make your case at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/International Peace Institute (using full sentences, not copy-and-pasted text from a Google search). Also, make sure that you don't remove other users' comments, because it may be regarded as vandalism. Finally, I don't know why you have edited the page describing an origin of my nickname; well, for the next time: messages for a user belong to his/her user talk page, such as User talk:Mike Rosoft (if for no other reason, then because I am not notified of edits of any other page in my user space).
For more deatails on deletion of articles, see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion and related pages. Regards, Mike Rosoft 12:49, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
Again, please do not copy the text directly from the Google search, because it leaves your comment horribly malformatted. If you want to include a link to another site, there are several options:
- http://www.example.org results in http://www.example.org (full URL with http://)
- [http://www.example.org] results in [1] (useful for external references in articles)
- [http://www.example.org Link description] results in Link description.
Thank you. Mike Rosoft 13:07, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Response to question on User talk:Alba
I'm happy to respond. If you have the references necessary to demonstrate the IPI's notability and verifiability, you should add them to the page! Wikipedia rewards being bold and improving pages. If they are on Articles for Deletion and someone improves the page so that it no longer needs to be deleted, they are highly praised for doing so. Here is an example of how I did just that. Since you are already familiar with the evidence, it is easier and quicker for you to go ahead and make the changes yourself than to convince someone else to go through the evidence and learn it well enough to change the page.
If you believe you have the evidence to support the IPI's inclusion in Wikipedia, go ahead and add it (in accordance with the Manual of Style), then add a note to the AFD nomination saying "The page has been improved, go look again before deciding." This is a more rewarding use of your time than writing extremely long defenses on AFD -- such responses tend to be taken as evidence of excessive zeal and thus ignored. For the effort put into the AFD text, the same evidence could be added to the page(s) themselves and make them worthy articles.
Finally, if you wish to participate any further, I highly suggest registering and getting all the tools available to regular editors. It's free, easy, and simple -- and it improves your credibility in discussions like these. Whether you register or not, please sign your comments (though not your articles) -- like this: ~~~~ (this is a code that tells Wikipedia to insert your name or IP address and the time and date). It's an important part of Wikiquette (Wikipedia ettiquette).
Good luck, and have a nice day! Alba 13:27, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- To respond further, I didn't call your article a fabrication; it was Dudeman1st. After the references were provided, he withdrew the allegiation, but maintained that the organization was too obscure (see Wikipedia:Notability), and that the article read like an advertisement (see Wikipedia:Spam, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view).
Hope that this makes the situation clear enough. Regards, Mike Rosoft 13:23, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] thanks
i will go through the process when i am less busy thank you any way for the clearity
