ABC Upper Hunter

ABC Upper Hunter (previously known as 2UH) is an Australian radio station. It is the Upper Hunter service of the ABC Local Radio network, and serves Muswellbrook and surrounding areas.

- 1044 kilohertz (this is the main 2UH frequency, reaches all of its license area)
- FM frequencies (callsign: 2HVR)
- 101.9 megahertz Merriwa and surrounds.
- 96.9 megahertz Murrurundi and surrounds.
- 105.7 megahertz Muswellbrook, Scone, Aberdeen, Singleton and surrounds.
[edit] Callsign Meaning
The UH in the callsign is short for the Upper Hunter, while the 2 represents the state of New South Wales. The FM simulcast callsign 2HVR stands for Hunter Valley Radio, in addition to the 2. The station was established in 1964.

The majority of its programming comes from 1233 ABC Newcastle in nearby Newcastle, with the only change being a local program broadcast weekdays between 6.30am to 7.45am. This program consists of a rural report from 6.30 to 7am, and a breakfast program from 7 to 7.45am, with locally presented bulletins at 6.30 and 7.30am. The program is presented by Mike Pritchard, and the local journalist is Louise Fitzroy.
