Abgaal
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Abgaal are a Somali clan and are part of the Hawiye. They live in the Middle Shabelle, Galgaduud, Banadir, Mudug and Lower Shabelle regions of southern Somalia. They have played an important role in the capital, Mogadishu, where they are the majority of Hawiye Sub Clans. In Mogadishu today, all clans are to be found with the Hiraab tribes, but Abgal is the majority. The first commander of Somalia was Abgal.
