Across the Universe is a 2007 musical film directed by Julie Taymor and set for a US release on September 28, 2007. It is an original story which incorporates the songs of The Beatles. The film mixes live action with puppetry and animation. It stars Evan Rachel Wood and Jim Sturgess, from a screenplay by Ian La Frenais and Dick Clement.

Liverpudlian dock worker Jude (Jim Sturgess) travels to America in the 1960s to find his estranged father. There he falls in love with sheltered American teenager Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood). When her brother Max (Joe Anderson) is drafted to fight in the Vietnam War, they become involved in peace activism.
Other notable members of the cast include Bono as Dr. Robert, Eddie Izzard as Mr. Kite (a circus owner), Dana Fuchs as the musician Sexy Sadie, Halley Wegryn Gross as Max's Girl, and Salma Hayek as a nurse.
