Adhikari

Adhikari can refer to: Jat, Rajput, kayastha. Mostly adhikari is used in Nepal, Western UP, Maharastra, West Bengal and Srilanka.
- The last name or family name of a section of indigenous Khasa people in Nepal with Bahun, Matuwali, Damai, Kami, Sarki, and Gaine castes. One prominent name with this last name is that of the former Prime Minister of Nepal Man Mohan Adhikari or Manmohan Adhikari.)
- Adhikari is also the family name of some other families in India and Sri Lanka, but they are not related with Nepalese Adhikaris of Khasa community. (They are all believed to have descended from the same ancestral family which first chose Adhikari as a title to distinguish it from other families.)
- Adhikari as a surname in India is mostly a title which was included as a surname and most of the people using it as surname has affiliation to some caste. This surname are given to some special peoples who have taught under Rabindranath Tagore.
