ADO Den Haag (ADO stands for Alles Door Oefening, Everything Through Practice) is the main football club in the city of The Hague. The club was for a time known as FC Den Haag, with ADO representing the amateur branch of the club. Despite being from one of the traditional three large Dutch cities, it has not been able to match Ajax Amsterdam or Feyenoord in terms of success in the Eredivisie. There is nonetheless a big rivalry with Ajax and Feyenoord.
ADO Den Haag has won the Eredivisie title in 1942 and 1943 and the KNVB Cup in 1968 and 1975 (under the name FC Den Haag). Greatest European success was a quarter final game against West Ham United for the European Cup Winners Cup in 1976. A 4-2 win in The Hague followed by a 3-1 defeat in London meant elimination.
After a long spell in the country's second tier of league football, ADO Den Haag currently play at the top level again. The club's home is the 11,000 seater Zuiderpark Stadion. Their home colors are yellow and green. The average attendance in 2005/06 was 6,800 people.
The club will move to a new stadium after the current season, the capacity will be around 15,000 seats.
