Aeropolis 2001
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Aeropolis 2001 is a proposed project for construction of a massive 500-story high-rise building over Tokyo Bay in Japan. If built, the mammoth structure would be approximately five times as high as the World Trade Center was in New York, or one third of the height of Mount Everest.

[edit] General information
Designed by Obayashi Gumi Corporation, Aeropolis 2001 will be a two-kilometre high building with 500 floors that would accommodate over 300,000 inhabitants. It will have special elevators that will move from top to bottom in only 15 minutes. Restaurants, offices, flats, cinemas, schools, hospitals, and post offices will all be just a few lift stops away.
It will also have green floors, where children and office workers can eat their lunches. If there is a sudden fire, it might be put out by robots or something of similar nature.
To alleviate the traffic coming in and out of the building there will be free jet packs on the roof for easy departure.
There will be no need to open windows or light fires inside the building for it will be fully air conditioned.
