Agatti
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Agatti Island (occasionally called "Agathy") is a small 7 kilometer long island, situated about 250 kilometers off the Kochi Coast. It is surrounded on all sides by a coral reef.
It is a part of the Lakshadweep Islands, which is the smallest union territory of India. Access by sea requires a 24 hour boat journey, while flying takes only 75 minutes from nearby Kochi. Indian Airlines operates a 10 seater Dornier to the island, while Kingfisher Airlines has its ATR712 from Kochin.
