First elected to the House of Commons in 1997, Carroll was re-elected in the 2000 and 2004 general elections. Kevin Carroll, Q.C., have two grown children, Daniel and Joanna. She lost her seat to Patrick Brown in the 2006 election.
In early 2007, Carroll announced that she would be seeking the Provincial nomination to run as a Liberal candidate in the forthcoming Ontario provincial election.
