Aircraft on ground
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Aircraft on Ground (AOG) is a term in aviation maintenance indicating that a problem is serious enough to prevent an aircraft from flying. Especially if an aircraft is commercial or stranded away from its home base, parts suppliers will generally offer AOG shipping to get replacement parts as quickly as possible (often overnight). By extension, pilots will use the term to indicate that they are stranded or unable to fly, as in "I'm AOG until the new radio arrives".
