Al Nichols

Al Nichols played baseball for the Louisville Grays professional baseball league in 1877. He was involved with an infamous betting scandal along with three other Grays players that had ties to a New York gambling ring. He and his teammate were charged with throwing many games throughout the season in exchange for a modest amount of money and were subsequently banned from professional baseball forever.
