Render Plus Systems develops 3D CAD Applications, and add-ons and plug-ins for SketchUp. These include RPS Ray Trace and RPS 3D PDF.
Render Plus is the developer for the ARRIS CAD System. Originally Developed in 1978 as "SigmaGraphics by Sigma Design, Ltd.", ARRIS was the first micro-processor based CAD System. ARRIS is still used by Architects who prefer a very powerful 2D and 3D CAD system.
The first version ran in Basic on a Z-80 processor. Soon the system was migrated to assembly language on the Z-80 Processor and its successors 8080, 8086, 80286, 80386, etc. In 1984 the system was re-written in "C" on a Sun Microsystems 68010 proceessor and its successors. Sigma Design was Sun Microsystems first and largest OEM partner in 1983 (Soon surpassed by a ComputerVision agreement).
In 1987, Render Plus, (then called ARITEK), branched off and developed add-on applications for ARRIS CAD. After developing more than 20 add-on applications, Render Plus started developing stand-alone applications, which did not require an underlying CAD system (such as ARRIS or AutoCAD).
These add-on applications included Giza, for Office Furniture layout, and other landscaping and home-building applications sold by Planix (a division of Softdesk), and Eagle Point.
