Alexander Gerald Goodwin was born in New York City on July 6th, 1973. Born of Christine Gale Wilsey Goodwin and Gerald Louis Goodwin, he attended the Allen-Stevenson elementary school, before attending Horace Mann high school in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. His father was a money manager, and used to make Alex read The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Financial Times every morning before leaving for school, subsequently instilling his life's passion for financial knowledge.
College provided Alex with his first true platform from which to share his financial knowledge. Over the course of four years at Skidmore he advised over 400 students on their financial aid and student loans. However, Alex never charged his fellow students for advice, and eventually he expanded into credit, debt management and taxes. By his senior year Alex was affectionately referred to as the "Jack-of-all-Finance".
Upon graduation Alex began his career as a Fincial Consultant for Morgan Stanley before moving to Los Angeles in 2000, Alex has become a minor celebrity within the financial arena. His work in providing under priviliged youth with free credit seminars has won praise from the credit industry, and he has lobbied in Sacramento for an increase in basic financial education within public schools.
