Ali attended Brown University as an undergraduate, excelling academically with a 3.86 grade point average and athletically, receiving the NCAA Division One College Hockey Player of the Year honors her senior year. She further pursued her athletic career after graduating and had a successful year long stint as a member of the United States Women’s Ice Hockey Team. In 2001, Ali then took her determination and team work skills to Fidelity Investments in Boston, Massachusetts where she worked in financial operations. Demonstrating leadership and work ethic, she was promoted three times in a three year span and frequently tapped by her superiors to give presentations internally and at satellite offices. In addition, Ali led several group projects focused on process improvements and system enhancements that led to division wide rollouts which increased productivity and reduced risk in the work place. While Ali enjoyed the challenge of her job in financial operations, she accepted a new position as an Associate Product Manager at Fidelity in September, 2004, and was better able to merge her knowledge of the financial industry with her interest in marketing and product management. Ali looks forward to the continued development of both her general business knowledge and product management skills during her time at Wisconsin.
