Andoversford

Andoversford is a village and civil parish in the Cotswold district of Gloucestershire, England, about six miles east of Cheltenham. The parish has a population of 668 according to the 2001 census.
The village runs parallel to the A40 and is located on the river Coln. Amenities include a Post office, two community halls, a Primary School, a pub called the Royal Oak, two local shops and a mostly dis-used animal stock market.
In easy reach of Andoversford are 3 other pubs / restaurants: The Frog Mill, a large hotel come pub come restaurant on the road from the A40 to Gloucester. The Kilkenny, a more upmarket, and more expensive, restaurant further up the same road. The Mill at Withington, a Samual Smiths owned pub off the forementioned road in the small village of Withington.
Cheltenham town is 15 minutes, on a quiet Sunday morning at 9am, further down the A40; Gloucester is a mere 25 minutes, approximately.
There is an industrial estate adjacent to the village. There was an incident here on the 4th September 2006 which resulted in a few days of disruptions to the villagers. (see below link)
