Andy Gill (born January 1, 1956) is a founding member and guitarist for the English rock group Gang of Four, known for his wild, jagged style of playing. Best known albums include Entertainment! and Solid Gold and hit singles include "At Home He's a Tourist," "Damaged Goods," "Anthrax," and "I Love a Man in Uniform." He produced much of Gang of Four's output, including their 2005 release, and many other artists including the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Stranglers, the Futureheads, Michael Hutchence, Killing Joke and, most recently, The Young Knives.
He is married to a journalist, Catherine Mayer, senior editor at Time Magazine. She doesn't write about music or perform but did supply the sex-worker lyrics to Unburden on Gang of Four's 1998 release, Shrinkwrapped.
