Anjelica Huston (born July 8, 1951) is an Academy Award-winning American actress and former fashion model. Among her roles, she starred as Morticia Addams in The Addams Family (1991) and Addams Family Values (1993). She received Golden Globe Award nominations for both films.

[edit] Early life and career
Huston was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of film director John Huston and mother was an Italian dancer, prima ballerina Enrica Soma.
Anjelica was raised mainly in Ireland and in England, attending Kylemore Abbey, a prestigious all-girl boarding school in Connemara, Ireland and also Holland Park School.
Two of the first movies she appeared in, Sinful Davey (1969) and A Walk with Love and Death (1969) were directed by her father considering from the start, he disapproved of her ambitions to act and for her performances in both films, Anjelica received crucial and hurtful reviews.
Unfortunate news already, Anjelica lost her mother, Enrica Soma in a car accident.
Anjelica would appear in less than few films in the next decade, moving to United States and pursuing a successful but short landing career in Modeling.
Anjelica would only then meet actor, Jack Nicholson.

Anjelica would soon retreat to old roots, taking on very small roles in films in the early Eighties: The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981) in which she would star opposite her then long-term beau, Jack Nicholson and Jessica Lange, and in Frances (1982) which would also star Jessica Lange. Appearing in critically acclaimed television series, Laverne & Shirley and Faerie Tale Theatre.
After taking on several small but prominent roles in both film and in television, Anjelica would land her big break, winning an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Maerose Prizzi in Prizzi's Honor (1985), a film directed John Huston, starring opposite Jack Nicholson and Kathleen Turner.
Anjelica would also star in Captain Eo (1986), a film directed by Francis Ford Coppola and starring pop sensation Michael Jackson. Anjelica would also star opposite James Caan, James Earl Jones and Mary Stuart Masterson in Gardens of Stone (1987), a film also directed by Francis Ford Coppola.
Anjelica would also be nominated another Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Tamara Broder in Enemies, a Love Story (1989) and another for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her role as Lily Dillon in The Grifters (1990).
Prizzi's Honor was directed by John Huston, this film be a touchstone, bringing Anjelica and John Huston closer then the two had ever imagined. leaving the two to collaborate in The Dead (1987). A film for which Anjelica was awared an Independent Spirit Award,
The Dead would be John Huston's final film before unfortunately passing away from emphysema.
Over the years, Huston has received Emmy Award nominations for her television work over the years. Winning a Golden Globe Award for Supporting Actress in a TV Program for Iron Jawed Angels (2004). It was her first win, after eight nominations.
Also receiving three Saturn Award nominations in which she was nominated for one of her most memorable roles, The Grand High Witch in The Witches (1990). For her trademark role, Morticia Addams in Addams Family Values (1991). And for her role as Baroness Rodmilla de Ghent in Ever After (1998).
After a handful prominent roles in both television and in film, Anjelica soon stepped away from acting, following her Father’s footsteps in the Director’s chair, her first film she would direct would be Bastard Out of Carolina (1996), another would be Agnes Browne (1999) in which she both Directed and starred, and Riding the Bus with My Sister (2005).
Acting in this century, she is a recurring cast member in Wes Anderson films, starting with The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) and The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou (2004).

Huston lived with Jack Nicholson from 1973 to 1989. She married sculptor Robert Graham Jr. in 1992, and resides in an unusual dwelling in Venice, Los Angeles, California.
She refused to move to the bohemian area unless Graham built them a fortress in which to live.
The result was a giant, windowless structure behind an opaque 40-foot fence.
