Anpara is a town in Sonbhadra district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.It is home of thermal power station and the total installed capacity of power generation is 1,630MW. The thermal power project provides accomodation to all its employees in fully furnished quarters. In addition, there are a host of other facilities like health clubs, hospital, stadium, shopping malls to name a few. The project has several schools providing quality education to children of the employees. DAV Public school is the best amongst them.

Anpara has an average literacy rate of 71%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 60% of the males and 40% of females literate. 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.
